I’m going to write a teen movie
Feeling a crazy drive to make my next screenplay a teen movie in the vein of 80’s Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Say Anything, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Heathers, 90’s Dazed and Confused, and 00’s Superbad and Easy A.
First love, rebellion, teen angst, alienation, self discovery, sex, drugs and rock & roll are all topics I enjoy seeing addressed in this genre. The movies are always so much more enjoyable if they’re shown in a fun and light-hearted way, as opposed to grim realism as seen in movies like Thirteen.
On a side note, how awesome are Duckie’s costumes? He is now one of my style icons.
